Full access to GitHub, really?

Hi guys,

I noticed that if I would integrate my account with GitHub repo you want full access to my account and all my repos (incl. private and other organizations' repos). Why do you need it? I just wanna play with one of my public repo. Please add an option to add access only to public repos.

   Hi Maxim,

   Historically this was the only way we could automate the configuration of the GitHub<>AppHarbor integration, but I'm actually not sure if GitHub allows for more fine-grained OAuth token scopes that'd allow us to accomplish this without requesting full access -- I'll look into it and see if there's a way to scope down access.

   In the meantime however there's already other ways to integrate GitHub repositories with your AppHarbor applications. It's a little more manual, but pretty straightforward: Just go to your application on AppHarbor, copy the build URL and use it to set up the AppHarbor service hook on your GitHub repository.

   Since it's a public repository no further action is required -- AppHarbor will fetch the code whenever you push to it as long as the service hook integration is configured (this notifies AppHarbor of new pushes).

   For private repositories you'd need to add the apphb to have read access to the repositories you want to push to AppHarbor.
