Based on your knowledge base article I have set-up the security group and IP range for my RDS instance but I cannot connect without adding the CIDR (0.0.0.0/0).

I just wanted to check the IP ranges were upto date for the European region?

    Hi,

The EU IP address range is up to date, so it's a bit interesting why you'd experience this issue. I suspect that it's related to the security group as that's the one that currently matters - when we're using the internal AWS DNS service our worker servers are essentially connecting to your database using the private IP addresses.

Did you test this before adding AppHarbor's "web" security group? Can you maybe try and remove both of the IP ranges and then just rely on the security group configuration. This will allow us to isolate the issue further, and if it works you should be able to add the public IP range and ensure the highest availability when/if AWS's internal DNS service fails.

    Best,
    Rune

Thanks, I removed everything and added the security group first and everything worked without a problem.
