Created a base MVC 3 project.
I didn't do any customization - just the plain vanilla MVC 3 using
Razor
When I push the project, it fails with the error
Controllers\AccountController.cs(81,13): error CS0103: The name 'ViewModel' does not exist in the current context Controllers\AccountController.cs(105,13): error CS0103: The name 'ViewModel' does not exist in the current context Controllers\AccountController.cs(116,13): error CS0103: The name 'ViewModel' does not exist in the current context Controllers\AccountController.cs(137,13): error CS0103: The name 'ViewModel' does not exist in the current context Controllers\HomeController.cs(13,13): error CS0103: The name 'ViewModel' does not exist in the current context
Builds locally - what do I need to do?

Are you using the most recent version of MVC on your local machine? In the newest version of MVC, you can use
ViewBagfor sending data to views.friism closed this discussion on 23 Mar, 2011 03:37 AM.

Which version is required so my builds don't fail? I suspect a version issue, I didn't change anything in the project at all. I wanted to see how app harbor works and how to deploy. So far this is really easy to do, I just need to get the build working :)

AppHarbor supports the major release builds. It's only a problem if you're using a beta-version of MVC on your dev machine.

THANKS! I thought I had upgraded to the latest MVC bits, but alas I
still had the beta.
Once I upgraded my local build failed in the same way as on AppHarbor.
Now I have successful builds and tests.
On to configuration issues (yay!)
Thanks again,

Cool. The MVC dll versioning issue is dicey -- we're prodding the Microsoft MVC guys to try and do a better job.
