Scaling
Hello,
I've noticed that you've added scaling support. Can you explain how this will work?
- Can we control this ourselves or do we have to request more servers each time?
- Can we add servers to other data centers than North America?
- How do we manage session state between servers?
- Are there any other limitations we should know about?

We have had internal support for scaling for some time (the AppHarbor website runs on multiple servers). We'll expose as a self-service option as soon as we can start charging (ie. you won't have to ask us).
We are looking at offering AppHarbor in more locations as developer demand rises. Please let us know where you would like to run your applications. Running the same application on servers in multiple data centers may be a bit further off.
If you want to prepare your app for running on multiple servers, you should not use the In-Process session-state mode. We use a custom cookie-scheme ourselves.
Other than that, I don't think there are any limitations. If you come across any, please do let us know so that we can do something about them :-).

That's great! I assume this will automatically handle load balancing across servers?
We would like to move to the data center in Europe when possible, as we'll launch there first. Hopefully later we'll have to scale back to US again :)
Yes, not using In-Process session-state mode was my initial thought. I'll look into it.

Yes, we handle load-balancing and we'll let you know as soon as a European location is available.
