IIS rewrite rules support?

Doesn't look like IIS rewrite rules are enabled. Any chance we could get those enabled?

I use them for a bit of SEO optimization (just to rewrite requests for domain.com to www.domain.com). I noticed I had to turn those rules off in my web.config to get the app to work -- otherwise I got a 500 error.

  1. Hi Dan,

I've added IIS rewrite support on all our web servers so it should work now.

By the way, we'll soon allow redirects from all hostnames registered on AppHarbor to a single "canonical" url, which will basically solve the same problem. This can then be set up on the website. The advantage is that redirection is performed on load balancer level rather than application server level, which will allow for faster and more efficient redirection.

Let me know if you run into other issues with this!

    Thanks,
    Rune

  4. Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that we've implemented canonical hostnames to handle redirects now. Read more about it here: http://support.appharbor.com/kb/tips-and-tricks/canonical-hostname

    Best,
    Rune
