MySQL Admin Panel?

What is the recommended way to do admin work on a MySQL database? Is there a built in panel or some 3rd party tool that I can use to easily connect and work on the database? Ideally something like phpMyAdmin but anything similar works.

    On Windows, I use MySQL Workbench.
